How It All Started

The journey that shaped who I am today

Personal journey and background story Personal journey and background story Personal journey and background story Personal journey and background story Personal journey and background story

I was born in Manila, and when I turned one year old, my parents were transferred to Surigao, my mother's home village. Life back then was hard. Living in the province was memorable but came with challenges, both physical and emotional. That's when a dream took root in my mind: I wanted to become an engineer.

Earning money in the province was difficult. There were fewer opportunities and limited access to resources compared to urban areas. I remember going to the mountains with my parents to visit their coconut trees and help with harvesting. Those were exhausting days. That's why I promised myself I would explore the world beyond and finish my education, no matter what it took.

I knew my parents couldn't fully support me financially, so during high school, I worked different jobs to cover my studies and school needs. When college came, balancing work and study became even harder as I pursued my engineering degree. I started as a student assistant at Caraga State University through their program. After that contract ended, I applied to Toily's Cafeteria, where I met incredibly generous owners who changed my life. They provided free meals and paid me hourly, which helped me save enough to face my challenges head-on. Later, I applied for the DOST JLSS scholarship. A few months after taking the exam, I received news that made me incredibly happy: I had passed. I decided to stop working part-time and focus entirely on my studies. Four years later, I graduated, making my parents proud and proving to myself that despite life's hardships, I could adapt, persevere, and succeed.

Today, I continue upskilling to provide valuable service to my future clients and customers. I believe true value comes from service done genuinely and with care. Every challenge I faced shaped who I am: a creator, innovator, and problem solver committed to making a real difference.
